You can reinstall Spore with the saves you have.Novem9:00 pm SPOILERS: Star Trek Discovery’s “Spore Drive” is Nonsense (and Other Musings on Sci-Fi Travel Technology). At some point in a few years you may have a much better rig. If at a certain point the game again becomes unplayable, then best to keep your Spore game folders onto a CD. One of our tech guys found that the laptop they tested for a user, ran ten degrees cooler and also ran much faster with better graphics. (You may also extend the life of your current rig by using a cooler pad with fans for laptops and better system fans for desktop. turn all the graphics settings as low as needed to keep it running. ![]() Restart the game, and it will generate a NEW Spore folder in user documents and if it continues to run, be sure to go to the game settings. This makes Spore think that you have a brand new game so it resets the game.Ģ. Give it a number after the name so you remember why that folder is there. Rename your Spore folder in user documents. ![]() Sometimes the best way to troubleshoot is to reset it.ġ. It is called resetting your game-without needing to reinstall. Good luck on getting a machine within your budget. I hope this helps you understand the requirements better. I would advise to aim higher, since you may acquire newer games that need a bit more muscle. You may find something that fits your budget and has the processing power for this game. New Egg online sells lots of gaming machines, so go search what they have under gaming machines. Generally speaking, if you were to buy another machine, game adivsors would tell you to avoid Dell and to avoid HP. It appears that this machine is a great multimedia machine but is not high enough on processing power. So the CPU is has 1.9 GHz, and it is below the minimum.Īnd adding injury to this further is that the video card does not exist, it is actually a chipĮven if you could get the game to load (some people actually do seem to have pixie dust or something), the core of the CPU would be drained and you'd get a lot of lag, or crashes to the desktop, and since the OS needs some of that juice to keep running Windows, you might just get black screen and have to reboot. Intel CoreTM i3-4030U processor (3M Cache, 1.9 GHz) I ran into several pages listing an i5 of this famly but I did find a touchscreen version of this with an i3 over at AmazonĪssuming that your i3 is very similar to this machine, it very likely has an intel chip that processes the video and because it is a chip, and not a actually a video card, that means this chip depends on the CPU to do the processing to compute the game and also smoothly shift from phase to phase in the game. The 128 Mb on the Video card means that the video card must have it's own memory chips so it does not interfere with the CPU. The part about 2.0 GHz is the minimum processing power in a CPU to play Spore without lots of add ons. * A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 there might be more infomation but would this work?įirst, this is some of the basics that SPORE requires to run, there is no leeway for this: Operating System: 64-bit operating system Oh, and a link to the offical Sporum forum Your hardware really has to meet better than minimum. I play Spore on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Wndows 8.1 without any problem. If you are looking to upgrade hardware, you could try running your settings for your latest Spore add on at ![]() If any of the settings are minimum, even if it's only one, that can add to the problem. ![]() If you have any of the other expansions or add ons, you need to run the tests under the name of the name of the last update. If you only have spore, run the test for Spore. You can run your rig through Can You Run It at System Requirements Lab. For example if you added C&C or GA to your game, your video card must now have higher specs espescially if the cpu is at minimal ratings. Your system specs help with a diagnostic.īut to cut to the chase, it sounds like you do not have a supported video card, or if you have used it in earlier games, maybe you added an expansion, or your current games are more complicated and exceed the abilities of your hardware.
